Secondary Music Camp 2022
Secondary Music Camp
An event that Music students look forward to every year at Carey is Music Camp. For three days, students get to immerse themselves in rehearsals, and group activities and generally just enjoy spending time together. The camp also serves as an intensive music-making immersion before the annual Carey Ensembles Concert. Massed choir rehearsals directed by Miss Andrea Onamade were a highlight this year, along with ensemble rehearsals that put the finishing touches on pieces to be performed at the Ensembles Concert, a movie night, and this year’s surprise activity which was ice skating at Cockburn Ice Arena.
The camp also provides an opportunity to present the Loveday/Vink Music trophy to one of the Year 12 Music ATAR students to recognize their contribution to music at Carey. This year’s worthy recipient was Tristan Fleming. As always, students’ music-making skills benefited greatly from the focused attention that Music Camp provides. The mini concert on the final day featured many stand-out performances replicated at the Ensembles Concert. Bravo and Brava to all students and staff involved!
