Infinite Energy Solar Car Challenge

Infinite Energy Solar Car Challenge

A number of Secondary students from our STEM classes recently took on the challenge of designing, building and racing their own solar-powered model car.

We had 14 teams compete in the Infinite Energy Solar Car Challenge at UWA on 28 and 29 October.

Students raced their solar-powered cars around a 100m figure 8 track, going through several elimination rounds to get to the finals. Two teams made it into the final round of the last 16. Whilst we didn’t get into the finals, our students had a fun and engaging day refining their cars, optimising gear ratios, and problem-solving.

Congratulations to Charlotte from Year 7 for winning Best 3D Printed Car and to Thomas and Seth from Year 10 for Most Spectacular Crash
