Your Move!

Your Move is a free program run by the Department of Transport that encourages students to become more active by walking, scooting, and riding to school. 

The program works with school coordinators to provide practical ways to tackle traffic issues and to teach and develop sustainability in schools. Your Move rewards school engagement with the program with points, which schools can spend on incentives, such as bike racks or shelters!

Carey’s Your Move Champion is our wonderful 5L PiP Representative and Bollywood Coordinator, Mrs Selvi Gopinathan. Alongside a group of passionate parents, she applies for grants for our College and facilitates events and activities for students to become involved in the Your Move program, such as the ‘Walking Bus’ and the recent K-6 Colouring Competition.

We are thankful to Mrs Gopinathan and her team of volunteers for their part in creating a safe and healthy school community at Carey!

Successful School Colouring Competition

We are delighted to announce the successful completion of our school colouring competition, held in conjunction with the Walk Safely to School campaign on 10 May. The event was a tremendous success, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to all the parents who encouraged their children to participate. The children showcased outstanding colouring skills, making the event truly memorable.

The response was overwhelming, with over 50 entries from Year 1 to Year 6. The high standards and enthusiasm displayed by all participants were truly inspiring. The competition was fierce, with exceptional performances from every student, making it challenging to select the winners. Our panel carefully reviewed each entry to determine the winners in both categories.

The winners will be announced next week. We also extend our best wishes to every child who participated. Your creativity and effort were truly inspiring. Congratulations!
