Year 6 visit State Parliament House
Last Wednesday, our Carey Harrisdale Year 6 classes spent the day at State Parliament House and the Constitutional Centre where they learned more about the Magna Carta, Australia’s voting process and saw WA’s parliament in action!
6L was particularly fortunate to have Premier Mark McGowan step out of his office to chat to them and they were then greeted by ministers Terry Healy MLA and Yaz Mubarakai MLA who spent time chatting, handing out juice and a commemorative pin and taking selfies with the class.
When in the visitor’s gallery of the Legislative Assembly, 6L were acknowledged by Parliament and saw the Premier announce the new ‘Off and Away All Day’ mobile phone policy for government schools in WA starting in 2020. It was a great day!
