Year 11 Outdoor Education Camp
Our Year 11 Outdoor Education students engaged in a four day hiking expedition in the Walpole Wilderness area during Week 3.
This was a particularly challenging hike as students were required to be self sufficient for the 36km duration, carrying everything they would need.
The hike concluded with a Wilderness Adventure Tour, cruising to the mouth of the inlet and learning more about environmental sustainability and management. Students spent time collecting debris from the beach including hundreds of nurdles (micro plastic pellets) which travel the world’s oceans having fallen from shipping containers.
Students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and are now planning for their next expedition in Term 3 to Kalbarri.
