Forrestdale WACSSA Interschool Sport Report

Forrestdale WACSSA Interschool Sport Report

We are proud of every student representing Carey at the WACSSA Interschool carnivals and tournaments over Term 2 and 3. Sporting performance aside, the behaviour and conduct of our students were second to none no matter where we went. Carey’s values shone brightly through the terrific sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect shown.

Well done to all our amazing athletes!

Netball Tournament | 7 June | Langford Park Netball Centre

With 80 students accompanying us, Carey Forrestdale had the highest student representation of all the schools attending!

Our Year 5 Boys and Year 6 Boys won Division A!

Our 8 teams connected players of every ability level, and all of our students had a ball! We were thankful to the fantastic support from our Secondary students, who came to umpire and assist as coaches.

Basketball Tournament | 9 August | Willetton Stadium

With 83 games played across all groupings, our students had a big day of playing and watching ahead of them; however, they maintained impeccable behaviour. Our Secondary student coaches and umpires positively influenced the group—we could not have done it without them!

Our Year 5 Boys (A Division) and Girls (B Division) won! Woohoo

Cross Country Carnival | 30 August | Thomas Oval, Medina

Our students looked very smart in their brand-new Cross Country uniforms, thanks to our wonderful PiPs fundraising efforts! We had three runners representing each year group (Years 2-6). Everyone had a wonderful day and gave it their all!

Our Year 4 team did especially well, with our boys placing 2nd, 3rd and 6th! What a strong team!

We were thrilled to have five medallists:

  • Year 2: Ashton Flinn (bronze)
  • Year 4: Eli Atabaki (silver)
  • Year 4: Tino Rodio (bronze)
  • Year 4: Stephanie Myhill (silver)
  • Year 6: Peter Nel (silver)
