SEIHA Academy visit Carey
The SEIHA Academy recently visited Carey as part of the Cultural Exchange Programme largely due to the generosity of a group of parents who volunteered to host the children for a week.
The Primary School welcomed 14 children and friendships were soon begun as the children visited Year 5 to play games and enjoy conversation.
The Year 6 classes also welcomed the students to several lessons to observe a typical Australian classroom in action. Mrs Nunn, Mr Haddy and Mr Wood welcomed small groups into their specialist classes as well. Mrs Snowsill and Mr Haddy initiated our first tree planting to commemorate the visit and the Japanese students reciprocated by bringing vegetables for the children to plant together in the garden. The Pre-Primary and Year 3 students joined in the fun to make this a very memorable event. Our visitors were able to attend Japanese lessons with Mrs Gee and our Year 6 Japanese class.
