Extracurricular Excellence
We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students who have been excelling in their extracurricular pursuits. These dedicated individuals have demonstrated exceptional talent, passion, and commitment outside the classroom over the past semester.
Their accomplishments are a source of pride for the Carey community, and they inspire their peers to explore and excel in their interests.

Malaysia International Athletics Tour
After his performance at the WA State Track and Field Championships earlier this year, Year 8 student Deshaun was selected to represent WA in the International Tour in Kuala Lumpur held in July. He competed with 32 other WA athletes alongside competitors from the Singapore Sports School Council and Ministry of Education Malaysia at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium.
Deshaun performed exceptionally well under pressure, and despite Malaysia’s high temperatures and extreme humidity:
- 4 x 100m Relay: Bronze medal
- 1500m: 5th
- 800m: 7th
- High Jump: 8th (PB 1.60m)
- Triple Jump: 8th (PB 10.36m)

Deshaun relished the opportunity to interact with athletes from different countries and says that swapping a competition shirt with a fellow 1500m runner from Singapore was a definite highlight!
Congratulations, Deshaun!
