Music Recitals
Year 11 and 12 Music Recitals
Our Year 12 Recital Night took place at the iconic Ellington Jazz Club in Perth, marking an exciting first for our students.
The evening gave students a unique opportunity to perform as the headline acts of a concert, accompanied by a house band, joined by some of Perth’s finest industry professionals. They made great music together and learned firsthand from accomplished musicians.
Bailey Birt kicked off the night on the jazz drums, setting the rhythm for an incredible show. Anjali Binish offered some soulful contemporary vocals, followed by Caitlin Fenwick’s smooth jazz tunes on the alto sax. Nishtha Yagnesh and Faith Clarke captivated with more stunning contemporary vocal performances before Charlie Breheney showed off his skills on the bass. To cap off the night, Hallelujah Selepe mesmerised with her jazz vocals.
Playing at an industry-leading venue like the Ellington gave our graduates the invaluable experience of stepping into the spotlight as featured artists. We are immensely proud of each student’s performance.
Congratulations to our talented young musicians. We look forward to seeing where your musical talent will take you!
Following that, we had the Year 11 Recitals. Held on 31 October at Carey Baptist College, these were the first solo recitals for Caelan Fong, Callum Tang, Daniel Grochowshi, Ella Nowal, Leah Philp, Naomi Scott, Shanaya Brahma and Zach Booth.
The students delivered a diverse mix of Western Art, jazz and contemporary music, with performances on vocals, bass, piano, and drums. Each piece highlighted their hard work and talent and showed how much they’ve grown as musicians.
Many thanks to the band for assisting in the students’ performances and our incredible host, Matilda Kilminster, who blended a great sense of humour throughout the evening.
