Karijini Adventures
The purpose of all of our camping programs here at Carey is for our students to grow personally, spiritually, mentally and emotionally through experiences in the outdoors and engaging with the natural world, summed up by our Outdoor Education philosophy, ‘Going Outside – Growing Inside.’ Our Year 10 Karijini adventure was no different.
We were privileged to take a terrific group of young people to Karajini National Park this year, and we enjoyed an adventurous week away together. We were well-equipped with wetsuits and floating pool toys to help us traverse the flooded pools in Dales, Hancock, and Joffre Gorges.
Our evening ‘yarning circles’ were a highlight of the program. Students discussed our action-packed days through the stunning scenery and read Psalm 23, reflecting on how God leads us by quiet streams like a shepherd.
