Gina Williams and guitarist Guy Ghouse Perform
Last Thursday, Harrisdale Year 8 students were treated to the phenomenal musicianship of singer Gina Williams and guitarist Guy Ghouse, as part of our Humanities course.
In Year 8 Civics and Citizenship, students look at different perspectives about Australia’s national identity, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives. Gina and Guy write and perform in Nyoongar language, helping to share language and culture with koolangkar (children). This part of the Year 8 course also coincides with National Reconciliation Week which starts today.
Students were lucky enough to hear one of the key songs of an opera that the duo are writing for WA Opera, premiering later in the year.
