Carey Harrisdale Year 6s Step Into Secondary
The Year 6 students enjoyed a fantastic immersion into Secondary School on 14 November.
The assembly showcased many exciting opportunities available to Secondary students, including Robotics, Stikbot filmmaking, Interschool Sports, Dance and Cheer. We were dazzled by the performances and impressed by the amazing things on offer!
For the remainder of the day, our three classes rotated through three subjects, giving us a taste of what Secondary school would be like.
We took part in an Art lesson with Mr Leeming and learned the very cool ‘silver ball technique’.
Mr Scaddan and Mr de Vries helped us explore our cultural heritage and played a fun ‘Alphabet Geography’ game.
Mr Choo and Mr Ng led us through a very exciting Science lesson. We lit Bunsen burners and conducted a flame test to see different chemicals burning with different-coloured flames.
Then, we tested five different liquids to identify which were acids and bases. We loved wearing aprons and safety glasses like real scientists and left very excited for Year 7 Science!
We would like to thank all the teachers who taught us and also extend our appreciation to Miss Bennett for all of her amazing organisation.
We can’t wait to be Year Sevens in 2025!
