Year 9 Math Goes Outdoors
In Week 6, some of our Year 9 students were busy applying their studies to the real world as they conducted a tree trigonometry assignment in Maths.
They measured the shadow length and their angle to the shadow to then find the height of the tree. They also used Pythagoras’ Theorem to measure the secondary quadrangle and the distance of the diagonal.
We love taking the classroom outside on occasion to help with the engagement and learning of students. It was great seeing the students out in the fresh air, applying Math to the real world.
