Carey Forrestdale Primary Impresses on the Track
WACSSA Interschool Athletics Track Carnival | WA Athletics Stadium | 7 November
We are always proud of our students’ athletic achievements, but we are even more proud of the exceptional sportsmanship and integrity they continue to display while representing the College and all we value.
We were absolutely delighted to watch Carey Forrestdale place 6th overall in this year’s competition.
Other highlights included our Year 4 Boys Relay team’s big win. The same students ran together and won as our Year 3 team last year, so there was a lot of celebration!
Three of our students won medals:
- Fikayo Owolabi – Year 5 Champion Girl
- Eli Atabaki – Runner-Up Year 4 Champion Boy
- Matthew Smith – Runner-Up Year 3 Champion Boy.
Well done to all our students for representing Carey so well!
School Sport WA Triathlon Championships | Champion Lakes | 1 November
We entered two teams at the Triathlon Championships at the request of Year 6 student Charlotte Cumins.
They smashed it! Our Year 5 and 6 Girls’ Team performed exceptionally, finishing 7th out of 33 teams.
Our Year 5 Mixed Team competed fiercely against some tough and larger all-boys teams and placed 16th.
Charlotte achieved a personal best and was named 4th Fastest Girl on the bike for the day. Zachary Weggen (Year 5) was also a powerhouse on the bike.
Our swimmers enjoyed their first open-water swim race and performed admirably, while our runners gave their all on a highly competitive field and a very hot day.
Go team!
