Year 4s Camp Out!
The Year 4 Camp Out towards the end of Term 3 provided students with an exciting ‘stepping stone’ experience to prepare for next year’s Year 5 Camp adventure.
As they embraced the fun and challenges of the overnight stay, each student was accompanied by a parent, which also made it a special experience.
After arriving back at school on Thursday afternoon to set up tents, students and parents plunged into The Amazing Race Year 4 Camp Out Edition, where groups had to perform tasks, decipher clues, and race to the next location (one group made their poor parent leader run for the entire race!).
The night was a real treat, with pizza and dessert together in the Hub, after-dinner games and a movie. Students enjoyed the novelty of sleeping at school and sharing tents with their parents, while Year 4 teachers opted for swags outside. (Don’t tell anyone, but Mr Ingram slept in his office!)
On Day Two, students enjoyed a BBQ breakfast cooked by Dads and Mr Ingram before they were off to Kings Park for the day for a Student Vs. Wild excursion where they cooked damper, made makeshift shelters and learned orienteering skills.
Packed with fun, the Camp Out helped students build self-confidence, a stronger sense of community, and deepen their friendships through new shared experiences. We hope both parents and students made memories that will last a lifetime!
