JUNIOR SOUTHERN ASSOCIATED SCHOOLS (JSAS) COMPETITION 2009

In 2009 we will again be involved in the extra curricular sports program, Junior Southern Associated Schools (JSAS) run by the Associated and Catholic Colleges (ACC) on Wednesday afternoons from 4:00pm-5:15pm.

The aim of the Junior SAS Sports Program is to provide an interschool sporting competition promoting participation, sportsmanship, leadership and socialization amongst students.

The competition involves separate boys' and girls' teams in year groups, with Year 7s separate, and Years 8 & 9 combined (summer and winter - Terms 1 and 2). Fixtures are constructed so that when Boys teams play home, then Girls teams play away. No finals are played, the top of table school is the winner.

Schools involved in this competition include:

  • Emmanuel Catholic College
  • Ursula Frayne Catholic College
  • Seton Catholic College (No Yr 7s)
  • John Wollaston Anglican School
  • Corpus Christi College

As next year the Program is officially up and running for the second time, only a few sports will be offered. For the Summer season in Term 1, students may trial for places in the following sports:

Boys
  • Basketball
  • Touch
Girls
  • Basketball
  • Touch
In the Winter Season in term two, students may trial for the following sports:
Boys
  • Indoor Beach Volley Ball
  • Soccer
Girls
  • Netball
  • Soccer

We are very excited at being involved in this fantastic opportunity and all Yr 7 - 9 students in 2009 are encouraged to trial for their place in the JSAS teams.

If you have any questions or concerns or would like to be involved, please do not hesitate to contact Paul Eaton on paule@carey.wa.edu.au or on 9394 9127.

Thanks you for your ongoing support of extra curricular sport here at Carey.
