Primary School Co-Curriculum
Girls in Years 4-10 participate in the WA Artistic Gymnastics competition held each year at the Loftus Street Recreation Centre in Leederville. The girls are managed and coached by a parent whose children have studied at Carey Baptist College, and by her daughters. A number of parents assist with management, leotards, transport, etc. The commitment of these people is wonderful.
A number of children participate in after-school basketball and netball competitions at either Lakeside Recreation Centre or Courtside Sports Centre – these are also under the umbrella of the Carey Sports Executive. The teams are organized by volunteering parents who do a wonderful job managing and coaching the teams.
A number of children from Years 3-12 have participated in the WA Equestrian Interschool competition under the care and guidance of staff member, Tamara Mouchemore, who is an accomplished and committed horse rider. The children and their families spend the weekend at the State Equestrian Centre in Brigadoon.
Carey United Soccer Club

Carey United Soccer Club offers an opportunity for your children to learn soccer skills from Pre-Primary through to Year 9. We have 12 teams made up of both boys and girls over a variety of age groups. We play each Saturday morning from May to September at Carey Baptist College and in the past four years have enjoyed the participation of Thornlie Christian College who have fielded a number of teams in each age group. Carey United emphasize the values of the College and while encouraging healthy competition, does not tolerate behaviour that is contrary to the College values or that diminishes the enjoyment of participating for fun. The Primary School are normally involved in the following competitions/carnivals every year:
- Weetbix Sanitarium Triathlon held in February on the Esplanade
- State Equestrain Championships in October held at Brigadoon
- Basketball competitions at Lakeside Recreation Centre
- The College Choir performs at special school events, local shopping centres, Interschool events and the Carey Monster Fair
- We participate in the following WA Christian Schools Association Interschool Carnivals:
- Swimming Carnival at Challenge Stadium
- Cross Country Carnival at Armadale Christian School
- Athletics Carnival at Perry Lakes Stadium
- Soccer at Sutherlands Park
Training times for the basketball and touch vary & more information can be obtained by contacting the school. All other events are organised as they approach, both Parents and children are notified ahead of time.
